This is a know issue and will eventually be corrected. To try to speed up printing your self, please try the following steps:
1. Reboot Your Computer
- This should be done at least one time every day. This has nothing to do with TaxWorks, Windows has ALWAYS had issues with memory leaking. When you restart all lost memory resources are freed up and available for TaxWorks and any other programs.
|
2. Install the latest version of Adobe Reader
- Make sure you un-check the option to install McAfee Anti-Virus
- If you already have the latest version, make sure it is up to date
- Open Adobe
- Click on "Help > Check for Updates"
|
3. Make sure you haev Anti-Virus software from a reputable company (AVG, Avast, Norton, Symantec, TrendMicro
|
4. Close ALL UN-NEEDED Programs
- We have touched on this numerous times... Your "business computer" should be just that "Your Business Computer"! You are working with your customers personal data; names, account numbers, SSN's. There are many programs you may have installed that could be collecting this data illegally and sending it to someone else!
- Coupon Cabin, Deal Finder, Cool Web Search, Weather Bug, Internet Optimizer, AOL Instant Messenger, Kazaa, Wild Tangent (the list goes on forever) The rule of thumb should be this: If it is not used for your bus
|
5. Clear Your Temp Files
- Again, you might be suprised how much junk you can collect. Follow these steps to clear out as much temp file data as possible:
- Click "Start > Run" (on Windows Vista/7/8 you will type in the search box)
- Type "%TEMP%" (without quotes)
- Delete everything in here (that you can). If you rebooted, you will be able to get most of it - however there usually are a few folders and files that are "in use" once you login to Windows. If there is more then 10 items in here that can't be remove, there may be something causing a problem on your computer.
