Problem


Upon launching TaxWorks 2012 you receive the following error message:

Application Initialization Failed


A connection could not be established to your client data access service.  Please verify that the "RG Client Data" service is running.




Solution


There are (3) possible solutions to resolve this issue:

  1. Go to the "Services" menu on your Windows service and restart the "RG Client Data" service
  2. Reinstall the "RG Client Data" service
  3. Reinstall the latest version of the TaxWorks 2012 software
